Tire interpretation
  • Department of transportation

    "DOT" indicate that the tire meets or exceeds the U.S. Federal Transportation Commission's mandatory certification standards;

    The number 4512 after "DOT" indicates that the tire was produced in the 45th week of 2012 (the first two letters represent the week of tire production, and the last two letters represent the year).

  • Uniform Tire Quality Grading System

    Treadwear: 480 means that the tire's rubber compound wears 4.8 times that of standard tire rubber (the specific mileage also depends on the tire's pattern, structure, air pressure...)

    Traction: the tire's grip ability

    Temperature: tire’s heat dissipation capacity
